Art Mirror Images

 For the past few days we have been working on creating images of our names and then making the mirror image on the other half of the paper. I have written my name in cursive and have completed the mirror image as well. I found that creating the mirror image was difficult because the "Y" in my name was tricky to make a mirror image for. The easiest letter(s) to make were the "K,L". Now I have to think of a design to make within my name and I seem to be having difficulties with thinking of a design to create.

Magazine value art- March 25th 2014

I have now finished the magazine value project and I had a lot of fun drawing it and showing value by drawing a person's face. I faced some challenges and had great success as I was drawing some of the body parts to the other half of the picture. Drawing the lips was a struggle because I kept making an outline of the lips and not making it a shadow so that part was difficult for me. There was a lot of hair that had to be drawn so it was kind of struggling to make all the hair strands when they where all going in different directions. I really enjoyed making it look like the hair was lighter and darker in some situations. I used the value scales to help my drawing be better and I also used examples found in the class room. Using the other half of the picture was also helpful because I used it to see at what points the hair or the face was lighter or darker in some areas.
